The Paskalev House in Haskovo was built in the mid 19th century. It is a two-storey, asymmetrical building with a superb functional distribution. A bay window, which is a rare element in the Bulgarian Renaissance architecture, gives it an artistic flavour. Wooden ceilings, doors, cupboards, extremely diverse with geometric and floral ornaments, create an atmosphere of beauty and warmth. Decorative niches with simple forms add even more elegance to the interior. The exhibition is a collection of objects coming from wealthy families of Haskovo from the nineteenth century. The architecture of the house and its ethnographic exhibition are amazing testimonies of creative excellence and flair for beauty and harmony.
